The psychrometric chart is a graphical tool used in engineering to display the thermodynamic properties of moist air at constant pressure.
Dry Bulb Temperature (Tdb)
Actual air temperature measured by a standard thermometer.
Relative Humidity (RH)
Ratio of the pressure of water vapour in the air to the saturated vapour pressure at the same temperature, often expressed as a percentage.
Humidity Ratio (W)
Ratio of the mass of water vapor to that of dry air in a unit mass of humid air, expressed as g of water per kilograms of dry air.
Enthalpy (h)
Enthalpy of the mixture of water vapor and dry air, measured in kJ/kg.
Dew Point (Tdp)
Temperature at which the air mixture becomes saturated when cooled at constant pressure.
Specific Volume (v)
Volume per unit mass of moist air (m³/kg). It is the inverse of the density of the moist air (m.a.) mixture
Degree of Saturation (μ)
Ratio of the amount of water content I have in the mixture compared to that at saturation, at the same temperature.
Vapor Pressure
Partial pressure of water vapor in the air (kPa).
Saturation Pressure
Partial pressure of water vapor in the air at saturation conditions (kPa).
